Sir Bani Yas Island

Sir Bani Yas
Type: Parks

Sir Bani Yas Island is the biggest island in the UAE. The total area is about 87 km². More than 17,000 animals live on this island. Deer, giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas and Arabian oryx are mentionable among them. You can see these animals walking fearlessly on the isle in herds. Species once extinct in the wild, like the Arabian oryx, now thrive again here. Sir Bani Yas Island has archaeological significance too. UAE’s only known pre‑Islamic Christian monastery stands here. Dozens of archaeological sites from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, and early Islamic periods are there.
