Al Zorah Natural Reserve

Al Zorah Nature Reserve is located in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. The total area of Al Zorah Nature Reserve is 195 hectares. The area consists of mangroves, creeks, sandy beaches and lagoons. Al Zorah is a perfect combination of sustainable tourism and natural beauty. It serves as a critical habitat for over 60 species of birds. Some of these birds are native, some are migratory.

Best Time To Visit

It’s wise to visit Al Zorah Nature Reserve in Ajman from October to March. Visiting during winter is the best because you can explore the place without feeling the intense heat of summer. Many migratory birds come to this place in this season. If you go there in the early morning, you’ll get a chance to experience wildlife activity at its peak at a comfortable temperature.

How To Get There?

• By Car: You can go to Al Zorah Nature Reserve from Dubai and Sharjah by car. You have to take Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road or Emirates Road heading north.
• By Taxi: If you want to go to Al Zorah Nature Reserve from Dubai or Sharjah, you can hire a taxi. You can also use apps like Careem and Uber.
• By Bus: You have to take a bus from Sharjah to Ajman Bus Station. Take the Dubai–Ajman intercity bus from Union Metro Station to Ajman Bus Station. From there, take a local taxi or Careem to Al Zorah (around 10–15 minutes ride).

Tips For Visitors

• If you go there to birdwatch, take a binocular.
• The UAE sun can be very intense. Carry sunscreen and enough drinking water when you visit there.
• Choose a tourist guide. Guides explain the ecology and wildlife.
• Wear breathable clothes.
• Do not leave children unsupervised. Pay special attention when they are near water.
• Respect all park rules and wildlife. Do not litter. It’s a conservation area and the ecosystem should not be disturbed.
